Brandon Wagner Added as 2018 FSL All-Star

Tampa, Fla. - The Florida State League announced today the addition of INF Brandon Wagner to the 2018 FSL North Division All-Star Roster. Wagner fills an opening left after the promotion of Clearwater Threshers' first-baseman Darick Hall on June 1st.


Wagner becomes the eighth Tampa player to be named a 2018 FSL All-Star and will join RHP Nick Green , LHP Trevor Lane and INF Diego Castillo to represent the Tampa Tarpons at All-Star Weekend on June 15th-16th at George M. Steinbrenner Field.


RHP Trevor Stephan , RHP Michael King , RHP David Sosebee and C Francisco Diaz were also originally named All-Stars, but will be replaced due to their promotions to Double-A Trenton.


Wagner, 22, batted .298 with 7HR and 18RBI in his first 23 games. After slowing down in May, the Princeton, New Jersey native has driven in five runs while homering twice in his last 10 games (as of 6/5). A sixth-round draft pick out of Howard College (Texas) in 2015, Wagner ranks fourth in the league with nine home runs.


The 57th FSL All-Star Game will be hosted by the Tarpons at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Saturday, June 16, at 6:30 p.m. FSL All-Star Weekend will kick-off with the Home Run Derby on Friday, June 15th, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for both the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game are currently available on
