TAMPA Fla. -- The Tampa Tarpons have announced their schedule for the 2019 Florida State League season. Opening night at George M. Steinbrenner Field will be on Saturday, April 6th, with the Tarpons set to host the Lakeland Flying Tigers. The Tarpons will begin the season in Lakeland on Thursday, April 4th.

Tampa will compete in the FSL North Division, facing Lakeland and the Dunedin Blue Jays 16 times each, the Florida Fire Frogs and the Daytona Tortugas 15 times apiece and the Clearwater Threshers in 14 games among the 140-game regular season schedule.
The remaining 64 games will be played against FSL South Division teams, including the Bradenton Marauders, Charlotte Stone Crabs, Fort Myers Miracle, Jupiter Hammerheads, Palm Beach Cardinals and St. Lucie Mets.
Tampa will face Bradenton more than any other opponent, with 17 games slated between the Tarpons and Marauders.
The 70-game home schedule includes 32 weekend contests and an Independence Day game against Clearwater on Thursday, July 4th.
Dates and opponents remain subject to change. Game times promotions and ticket details will be announced at a later date.
