In the bottom of the seventh, Tennessee used its two out magic once again. With Wynton Bernard on second after a fielder's choice, Charcer Burks tripled to left field, scoring Bernard from first. P.J. Higgins followed up with a single that scored Burks and made the score 4-0, Smokies. In the bottom of the eighth, Tennessee added one more run as a double play from Balaguert scored Jeffrey Baez.
Zach Hedges replaced Robinson in the seventh inning and pitched a scoreless inning. In the eighth, Preston Morrison and Wyatt Short combined to get out of the inning after two runners reached scoring positon. Short pitched a scoreless ninth inning as well to close the game out.
