SEVIERVILLE, TENNESSEE  - Tennessee beat Jackson 2-1 on a walk-off single from Trey Martin, scoring Yasiel Balaguert in the 14th inning on Sunday night. With the win, the Smokies have evened up the best-of-five series with the Generals.

Sunday night was without a doubt a pitcher's duel, as the two teams only combined for three runs. Chris Nunn received the start for the Smokies, going on to pitch 6.0 innings. Nunn didn't allow a run, and gave up just two hits.

Craig Brooks, Jake Stinnett, James Pugliese and Tommy Thorpe all saw action in relief for the Smokies. Brooks was the only one to allow a run, as he blew his third game of the season. Thorpe picked up his first win of the season for the Smokies.

Nunn helped himself out, hitting a line drive to left field in the fifth inning, allowing Kevin Cornelius to score and give the Smokies a 1-0 lead. In the top of the 7th, Kevin Cron would tie things up at 1-1 with a solo home run. Martin's RBI single would send Smokies' fans home happy in the bottom of the 14th inning, closing out the game with the 2-1 victory.

The Smokies are back in action tomorrow afternoon for the final game of the 2017 season. Tennessee takes on the Jackson Generals at 12 p.m. ET. with gates opening at 11 p.m. ET.
