CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Clearwater Threshers' 2017 Florida State League schedule has been released. The 140-game slate starts on April 6 and concludes on September 3.

The Threshers' home opener is also the first game of the season when Clearwater takes on Dunedin on Thursday, April 6. The Blue Jays also finish the season against the Threshers, with Clearwater's last home game on Friday, September 1.

Highlights of the 2017 season schedule include a total of nine Saturday and 12 Tuesday games as fan favorites Saturday Night Fireworks and Dollar Tuesdays return. Weekend games will be plentiful with 13 Thursday games and 12 Friday games on the docket. July 1 and 3 will again feature huge Independence Day fireworks celebrations.

A new addition to the Florida State League joins the fray this year - the Atlanta Braves will have an Advanced-A affiliate in Osceola, playing in the North Division. The new club, which replaces the Brewers affiliate in Brevard County, are the Florida Firefrogs. The Osceola team visits Clearwater first on April 21, with the Threshers returning the favor on May 5.
