Garcia Knocks in Pair in 4-3 Loss

DUNEDIN, Fla. - Wilson Garcia knocked a two-run double off the wall in the first inning on Sunday, but the Dunedin Blue Jays rallied back to erase the early lead in a 4-3 loss in the series finale at Dunedin Stadium.
Clearwater (1-3) broke out in front for the second straight day, plating three runs with two outs in the first.
Mickey Moniak singled on the first pitch of the ballgame from Blue Jays starter Josh DeGraaf, and with two down Darick Hall pulled a double inside the first base line to put runners at the corners.
Edgar Cabral came through with a single to left-center to score Moniak and put the Threshers out in front, and Garcia followed by rocketing a double off the wall in right to bring in two more and make it 3-0.
Alejandro Requena held the Blue Jays off the board through the front three, before Dunedin (3-1) cut the lead to one in the fourth. DJ Davis and Josh Palacios delivered back-to-back RBI doubles to bring it to 3-2.
Requena would give Clearwater four innings in the start, permitting two runs on six hits and four walks while picking up two strikeouts. The right-hander tossed 83 pitches, 45 for strikes.
The Blue Jays pushed ahead in the sixth inning, facing reliever Felix Paulino (0-2).
Nash Knight tied the game with a homer to right, and a walk, double, and fielder's choice set up runners at the corners with one out.
With a 3-2 count on the lefty-swinging Palacios, Davis took off for second, and Palacios shot a ground ball to the left side that snuck through with shortstop Jose Gomez breaking to the base, resulting in the go-ahead single.
DeGraaf (1-0) earned the win for Dunedin, as he held the Threshers off the board in his final five innings. He and relievers Travis Bergen and Kirby Snead limited Clearwater to just one hit through the last eight frames.
The Threshers return home to open a seven-game homestand beginning on Monday, as Clearwater hosts the Jupiter Hammerheads at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on threshersbaseball.com, the TuneIn app, and the MiLB First Pitch app starting at 6:45 p.m.
