Tides charge past Bulls in road trip finale

Xavier Paul and Steve Clevenger each had three hits to power Norfolk past Durham 9-2 Sunday night at Harbor Park. 

Paul had three hits and four runs batted in as he upped his hitting streak to nine consecutive games. Paul, who leads the Tides with 34 RBI this season, had an RBI single in the second inning before a bases-clearing double in the fourth frame. 

Clevenger continued an impressive hot streak with two singles, a double and two runs batted in. Over his last five games, he's now batted .696 (16-23) with seven doubles and 13 runs batted in. 

Chris Jones (3-3) picked up the win in a spot start after allowing one run on three hits in five innings of work. He struck out four while walking two to help the Tides wrap up their six-game road trip with a 4-2 record. 

Norfolk returns to Harbor Park on Monday night for a two-game series with the Bulls. First pitch is slated for 7:05.
