Thursday's Wisconsin game in Clinton postponed

Teams will try to play series with a single game on Friday and doubleheader on Saturday
April 18, 2013

CLINTON, IA - Thursday evening's game between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the Clinton LumberKings at Ashford University Field has been postponed due to wet grounds.  The heavy rain that caused Wisconsin's Wednesday game in Cedar Rapids, Iowa hit Clinton hard overnight and flooded portions of the field to make the grounds unplayable for the first meeting of the season between the Rattlers and LumberKings.

This was the seventh game that Wisconsin has had either postponed or canceled by weather this season.  Clinton has been just as affected by the lack of spring.  The LumberKings were rained out at home on April 10 and April 11.  They were also rained out in road games at the Quad Cities on April 15 and April 17.

Wisconsin and Clinton will try to get their series started on Friday night with a single game starting at 6:30pm.  Thursday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.  The first game of Saturday's twinbill is scheduled to start at 4:00pm.

The reason the game will be made up on Saturday is due to Clinton having played three doubleheaders since April 13 (April 13, 14, and 16).  By rule, no minor league team may play three doubleheaders in a seven-day period.  Tomorrow would have been their fourth twinbill in a seven-day period.  So, Thursday's game had to be rescheduled for Saturday.
