DAVENPORT, IA - The 2017 Wisconsin Timber Rattlers season ended the way it began, with a loss to the Quad Cities River Bandits at Modern Woodmen Park. The River Bandits beat the Rattlers 3-0 way back on April 6 and on Labor Day afternoon, they rallied to beat the Rattlers 7-3.

Wisconsin (59-79 overall, 33-37 second half) took the lead in the top of the third inning. Joantgel Segovia doubled to start the inning. Dallas Carroll moved Segovia to third with a flyout to deep right. Then, Trever Morrison knocked in Segovia with a single.
The Rattlers added to their lead in the fourth. Mario Feliciano singled to start the inning and would wind up on third base after two straight wild pitches by Nathan Thompson. Demi Orimoloye drove in Feliciano for the 2-0 lead

Adrian Houser was the starting pitcher for the Rattlers and he retired the final nine batters he faced after allowing a leadoff single in the first inning. House left as planned after three innings.

Quad Cities (79-59, 42-28) got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth against reliever Drake Owenby, who retired the first two batters he faced before walking Abraham Toro-Hernandez. Wander Franco followed with a double to the corner in left to drive in the run.

Wisconsin added to their lead again in the top of the fifth as Morrison singled and Keston Hiura doubled to put runners on second and third with one out. Mitch Ghelfi drove in Morrison with a sacrifice fly and the Rattlers were up 3-1.

Owenby gave up a leadoff double to Kristian Trompiz in the bottom of the fifth, but retired the next two batters. However, the third out was elusive. Chas McCormick doubled to drive in Trompiz. Chuckie Robinson tied the game with another RBI double. JJ Matijevic was next and he cracked a homer to right-center and the River Bandits were up 5-3.

The Bandits got two insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh inning against reliever Rodrigo Benoit. Bryan De La Cruz doubled with one out. Then, McCormick launched a two-run homer and the River Bandits were up 7-3.

Wisconsin couldn't muster a comeback as the last hit they had in the game was the double by Hiura in the fifth. Their only base runner after the fifth inning came when Ghelfi drew a one-out walk in the eighth.

The loss denied the Timber Rattlers a chance for their first sweep of the River Bandits since the 2011 season.
