GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will host Appleton Professional Baseball's 60th Anniversary Welcome Home Banquet when they officially welcome the 2018 players and coaches to the Fox Cities on Wednesday, April 4. Former Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin is the scheduled special guest in the Fox Communities Credit Union Fox Club at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.

The doors to the ballpark open at 5:30 pm. There will be a scheduled autograph session with the 2018 Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and a social hour from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. An interactive question and answer program with the players and coaching staff of the Timber Rattlers and Melvin will follow dinner.

Melvin, a Senior Advisor in the Milwaukee Brewers front office, was a guest of the Timber Rattlers at the 2010 Welcome Home Banquet. Melvin was named the general manager of the Brewers in 2002. He stepped into his current role with the Brewers in August of 2015. He had previously been the general manager of the Texas Rangers (1994-2001) and worked in the front office of both the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles.

The first Welcome Home Banquet hosted by this iteration of Appleton Professional Baseball was held at the Appleton Elks Club on April 24, 1958 just before the Fox Cities Foxes began play in the Three-I League.

Dinner will consist of: A house garden salad with dressing, dinner rolls, beef chateau and ranch chicken, mashed potatoes, chef's choice vegetables, and caramel apple bacon tart for dessert.

There is also a vegetarian option (mushroom asparagus risotto) and a child's option (breaded chicken tenders with French fries and a sliced fresh fruit cup) available on request when ordering tickets for the event.

Tickets for the 2018 Leadoff Experience are on sale now and are available for $35 per person.

Reservations for tickets may be made by contacting Mary Robinson at (920) 733-4152. Fans may also stop at the Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium Front Office to purchase tickets Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Space is limited for the event. Fans are urged to make their reservations as soon as possible.

The Timber Rattlers will begin the 2018 season at Beloit on Thursday, April 5. Their home opener is Saturday, April 7 at 4:05pm against the Beloit Snappers.

Full season, partial season, and group ticket packages are currently available for the 2018 season. Tickets packages are available online, over the phone at (920) 733-4152 or (800) WI-TIMBER and in person. Groups of 20 or more may order tickets over the phone or in person. The Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium Box Office is open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. 

Fans may purchase individual game tickets for 2018 in person at the Timber Rattlers Box Office, over the phone at (920) 733-4152 or 1-800-WI-TIMBER, or through the team's website. The Box Office at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium will be open from 10:00am to 3:00pm on March 10.

The Box Office and Snake Pit Team Store will have Saturday hours of 10:00am to 3:00pm starting on March 10 and continuing through the end of the 2018 season.
