Fan to be Immortalized as Bobblehead Giveaway
That fan will be the model for the team's "It's All About You" Fan of the Year bobblehead giveaway on Friday, August 31st. Bobbleheads, all the likeness of the selected fan, will be given away to the first 1,000 fans through the gates on Fan Appreciation Day.
The selected fan will be in attendance to sign autographs, pose for pictures, throw out the ceremonial first pitch, be available to sign autographs, and receive VIP treatment.
"We knew that we wanted to do at least one bobblehead giveaway this season," said Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President of Marketing. "We brainstormed a number of good people to choose, but then we thought this was a good opportunity to make it 'all about you' and pick a fan. Once we had the idea we started to think about the best way to select the winner. Choosing a fan from everyone at Parkview Field on Opening Night was a perfect fit."
During Opening Night's festivities TinCaps personnel will randomly select one seat location from all tickets scanned in on Thursday, April 5th. "Fans won't have to do anything other than be inside Parkview Field to be eligible to win," stated Limmer. "For some people this might be fulfilling a lifelong dream. It will be a unique feeling to see not only yourself as a bobblehead, but also to see 1,000 bobbleheads of your likeness on display."
Fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance for next Thursday's Opening Night, April 5th. The game will also feature Thirsty Thursday drink specials, post-game fireworks and special pre-game ceremonies to mark the first game of 2012. "This is such a fun way to start the season," said Limmer. "When we say 'it's all about you' we really mean it."
