FORT WAYNE, Ind. - In the franchise's 25th season, the Fort Wayne TinCaps finished the 2017 regular season with their second-highest attendance number ever. After an electric crowd of 6,331 sparked the TinCaps to a come-from-behind win against the Great Lakes Loons (Los Angeles Dodgers) at Parkview Field on Friday night, Fort Wayne finished its regular season home schedule with a total attendance of 409,253.

Only the 413,701 fans who came to Parkview Field during the 2016 season rank higher in Fort Wayne franchise history. (See rankings below.)
"This was yet another amazing season," TinCaps President Mike Nutter said. "Thanks to all 409,253 fans who came to Parkview Field this year for your support. You're simply the best. We can't wait to add to this number during a fun playoff run."
Making the TinCaps' attendance figure in 2017 more impressive is the context that it has come during the wettest year-to-date in Fort Wayne's history as a city. Nevertheless, the TinCaps had only one game rained out as they drew an average attendance of 5,931. The organization's front office staff has a running tally of putting the tarp on-and-off the field some 21 times this season.
Through Friday night, out of 160 franchises in Minor League Baseball, Fort Wayne's total attendance ranked 23rd. The TinCaps have outdrawn 10 of 30 Triple-A clubs, 28 of 30 in Double-A, and rank second among Single-A teams behind only Dayton.
The TinCaps have clinched a Midwest League Playoff spot. While Fort Wayne doesn't know yet whether it'll face Bowling Green or South Bend in the Eastern Division Semifinals, the team does know it will be at home on Thursday, Sept. 7 (7:05 p.m.) for Game 2 of a best-of-three series. If necessary, Game 3 will also be at Parkview Field on Friday, Sept. 8 (7:05 p.m.). The TinCaps will be on the road for Game 1 on Wednesday.
TinCaps playoff tickets are available online at TinCapsTickets.com and by calling 260-482-6400 or visiting the Parkview Field Ticket Office during regular business hours.
Before the Midwest League Playoffs begin, the TinCaps finish the regular season with three games on the road against the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers) this Saturday-Monday. The team will have Tuesday off before the postseason starts.
