TinCaps to Host Peanut-Free Night

Wednesday's Home Game to be Free of Peanut-Related Products
July 15, 2013

Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne TinCaps are proud to announce that their game on Wednesday, July 17th, at Parkview Field will be a peanut-free game. No peanuts or peanut-related products will be sold, and special efforts have been made to clean the ballpark to rid it of any peanut residue, in order to make it the most accommodating environment possible for TinCaps fans with peanut allergies.

For one game each season, the TinCaps remove all forms of peanuts and any foods prepared with or near peanuts or peanut oils so that fans can enjoy not just the concessions, but the game, too, without any worry.

"We're pleased to welcome fans of all ages who have peanut allergies to Parkview Field," said TinCaps Vice President of Marketing, Michael Limmer. "With TinCaps baseball, 'It's All About You', and this is another way that we're glad to be able to incorporate every member of our community into the ballpark experience."

Regular items that will be omitted from Wednesday's in-game menu include: butter pecan ice cream, Cracker Jacks, Drumsticks ice cream cones, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies (contains almond flour), J. Chapman Salads (include pecans, but is packaged in a plant that has peanuts), peanuts, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, peanut and regular M&M's, Reese's Pieces candy, select ice cream toppings (packaged with peanuts), and vanilla and crunch dibs (packaged with peanuts). On the suite level, no chocolate chip, peanut butter, rocky road, oatmeal raisin or white macadamia nut cookies will be served. Additionally, the spring rolls served on the suite level will not be served that night and the brownies, usually topped with chopped nuts, will be nut-free.

"The best fans in Minor League Baseball deserve the best treatment from their hometown team, and we're happy to put together the best possible event for those with peanut-related allergies," said TinCaps Culinary Director, Scott Kammerer. "Our staff has been hard at work cleaning our equipment while the team has been on the road. We've made sure to scour our entire menu to eliminate any products that are made with peanuts or packaged with peanuts so that every fan can eat happily and safely on Wednesday."

Tickets for Wednesday's game are available at the Parkview Field Ticket Office, online at TinCaps.com or by calling 260-482-6400.
