Tortugas Announce 2018 Schedule

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - The Daytona Tortugas released their initial 2018 schedule Monday afternoon. The season begins at home with a matchup against the Florida Fire Frogs on Thursday, April 5th at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Daytona will begin with nine of it's first 11 games at home. 
The 2018 schedule includes 10 Thursday and 10 Saturday home games. The Tortugas will celebrate Independence Day during their July 3rd home game against the St. Lucie Mets, before heading to Palm Beach for July 4th. Daytona will also be home for Memorial Day weekend (May 24-27) for a series against St. Lucie. Following an off-day on Memorial Day, the Tortugas will wrap up the homestand with a three game series against Bradenton.
The All-Star Break will take place from June 15-18, with the second half of the season beginning on Thursday, June 21st, when the Florida Fire Frogs visit The Jack. The 140-game schedule concludes on Labor Day weekend once again, wrapping up in Dunedin on Sunday, September 2nd. The home schedule wraps up a week earlier on Sunday, August 26th, against the Tampa Yankees.
The Tortugas will also be home for Cinco De Mayo, against Lakeland, on Saturday, May 5th. The Florida State League will have league-wide off-days on both Mother and Father's Day.
The Tortugas closed the book on the 2017 season over the weekend, with the final chapter consisting of awards and recognition. Daytona was awarded the 2017 Home Field Advantage Award for the Florida State League, for the second straight season, for it's attendance and great fan base in 2017. That was followed up with Daytona's first ever Golden Bobbleheads, winning the biggest promotional award in North American baseball. Bob Ross Night was named as the Best Promotion in baseball, as well as the Best Overall night. Lastly, first year President Ryan Keur was named the top executive in Minor League Baseball.
Keur, and the entire Tortugas Front Office, is looking forward to 2018 and a chance to build off a great 2017 season. The Tortugas finished second in attendance in the FSL in 2017, increasing attendance by more than 24,000. The Tortugas 2018 Promotional Schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. All game times are currently subject to change.
