KISSIMMEE, FL - The Daytona Tortugas doubleheader against the Florida Fire Frogs was canceled Thursday afternoon at Osceola County Stadium due to weather. The two games will not be made up, as Thursday was the final time these two teams were scheduled to meet in the first half of the season. The Tortugas are now scheduled to play 65 games in the first half of the season.
Thursday's rain out brings All-Star Weekend a day early for the Tortugas. After the weekend off, Daytona will return home for an important four game series with the St. Lucie Mets, beginning with a doubleheader on Monday night. Daytona is currently a half game out of first place, with four games remaining on their first half schedule.
Thursday was the eighth rain out for Daytona in their last 17 road games.
 
The Tortugas resume action Monday with a doubleheader beginning at 5:35 PM at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. All games will be broadcasted on AM 1230 and AM 1490 WSBB, with The Metcare Pregame Show beginning 15 minutes prior to first pitch.
