AUGUSTA-- The Asheville Tourists controlled the series opener against the Augusta GreenJackets. Asheville built a 2-0 lead before Augusta came back to tie the score in the fifth. Asheville scored the game's next five runs to pull out a 7-2 win.
Alejandro Requena tossed six innings and surrendered only one earned run while Jacob Bosiokovic led the offensive attack with a three-run Home Run. Lake Olmstead stadium is not known for allowing Home Runs but Bosiokovic's blast was a difference maker.

Asheville finished with nine hits; eight of them singles. The Tourists used small ball to score their first four runs of the game. They laid down two sacrifice bunts and added a sacrifice fly off the bat of Max George.
On the pitching side, Requena earned his sixth win of the season. The right-hander pitched four shutout innings before Augusta's Sandro Fabian hit a solo Home Run in the fifth. Augusta added an unearned run later in the inning to tie the game.
The Tourists built their lead back up in a hurry. They scored once in the sixth and added four more in the seventh. Heath Holder pitched the final three innings to notch his first save of the season. In addition to Bosiokovic, Carlos Herrera and Jose Gomez each finished with two hits.
The win was Asheville's third victory in their last four games. The Tourists are back in action on Saturday night with a 6:05pm first pitch.
