Travs one W from playoffs after 3-1 victory

Springdale, AR - The Arkansas Travelers won 3-1 over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Saturday night at Arvest Ballpark.

With the victory, the Travs need to win one of the remaining two games against the Naturals to clinch the second half North championship and a playoff berth.

LHP Chris O'Grady (W, 7-1) worked seven innings and allowed the run on six hits with no walks and four strikeouts. O'Grady is now 6-0 with a 1.66 ERA in seven starts for the Travs.

RHP Austin Adams (S, 4) earned the save with two perfect innings in relief of O'Grady. Adams struck out two.

Arkansas plated each of its three runs in the third inning on four hits.

Northwest Arkansas produced five hits between the fifth and sixth innings but mustered only one run.

2B Sean Coyle and 1B Alex Yarbrough both finished 2-for-4 for the Travs in the win. Coyle extended his hitting streak to eight straight games.

The Naturals struck out 12 Travs in the loss.

Arkansas will send RHP Alex Blackford (9-7, 3.17) to the hill on Sunday and he'll be opposed by RHP Yender Caramo (5-7, 2.54). First pitch at Arvest Ballpark is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
