The 2018 Eastern League All-Star Classic, presented by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, will begin with the Philadelphia and New York Police Departments playing a special baseball game on Tuesday, July 10. The festivities continue Tuesday night with the Case's Pork Roll Home Run Derby as the top sluggers from the Eastern and Western Divisions of the league show off their power.
Wednesday, July 11 features the Eastern and Western Division All-Stars facing off in the biggest event of the summer at ARM & HAMMER Park. Gates will open at3:00pm on the day of the game to allow fans the opportunity to watch their All-Stars take batting practice and attend a special autograph session with both teams.
The 2018 Eastern League All-Star Classic, presented by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey will be the third All-Star Game hosted by the Thunder in their 25-year history. In 1996, ARM & HAMMER Park played host to the Double-A All-Star Game where future major leaguers Vladimir Guerrero, Paul Konerko, Luis Castillo, Derek Lee, Todd Helton and Carl Pavano participated and the 2009 Eastern League All-Star Game where future major leaguers Carlos Santana, Madison Bumgarner and Eduardo Nunez participated.
Your Thunder, presented by NJM Insurance, will begin the 2018 season, the 25th in franchise history, on Thursday, April 5 when they host the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants).
