Tri-City starting pitcher Omar Cruz delivered an incredibly impressive performance in his debut with the team. The 19-year-old hurler earned the win after tossing five scoreless innings. He allowed just three hits and collected six strikeouts. Jordan Guerrero came on in the ninth inning and slammed the door shut on the Emeralds. The hard-throwing reliever earned his team-high third save of the year after striking out the side. With three games to play in the first half the Dust Devils remain two games back of Everett in the North Division after the AquaSox defeated the Boise Hawks on Friday night.
Right-hander Angel Acevedo will start the middle game of the five-game series on Saturday night. Eugene will counter with right-hander Jose Albertos. There will be a postgame fireworks show at Gesa Stadium Saturday presented by Nuclear Care Partners.
