Behind a complete performance at the plate and from the pitching staff the Tri-City Dust Devils (1-2) beat the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Sunday night 11-0. Tri-City starter Cole Bellinger earned the first win of his professional career after tossing five scoreless innings.
The Dust Devils struck early and never looked back. Nine of the team's runs came in the first three innings. Luis Asuncion was especially effective at the plate, finishing the game with three doubles. The long ball continued to be a factor for Tri-City. The Dust Devils now have six home runs through three games after Mason House and Tre Carter each had solo blasts during the third inning. Right-hander Sam Keating will toe the rubber on Monday night as the team will try to even the series with the Volcanoes.
Tri-City will return to Gesa Stadium for the home opener on June 20th to start a three-game series against the Spokane Indians. The home opener will be Magnet Schedule Giveaway Night sponsored by Tri-Cities Community Health and there will be a postgame fireworks show presented by CO-Energy. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
