An early home run from Tre Carter was not enough for the Tri-City Dust Devils (0-1) on Friday night as the team fell to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 4-3. Newcomer Michael Curry impressed at the plate in his professional debut, finishing the game with three of Tri-City's seven hits.
Returner Henry Henry was solid on the mound for the Dust Devils to begin the game. Henry allowed two runs in his five innings of work. Tri-City's bullpen did struggle to maintain the team's led, with only Andres Munoz throwing a scoreless inning in relief. The Dust Devils will look to even the series and get their first win of the season on Saturday night. Right-hander Adrian Martinez will toe the rubber for Tri-City. Salem-Keizer will counter with right-hander Gregory Santos.
Tri-City will return to Gesa Stadium for the home opener on June 20th to start a three-game series against the Spokane Indians. The home opener will be Magnet Schedule Giveaway Night sponsored by Tri-Cities Community Health and there will be a postgame fireworks show presented by CO-Energy. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
