The turning point in the game for Tri-City came in the bottom of the fifth inning. Nick Gatewood delivered a clutch two-out single with the bases loaded. Three runs scored on the play, the first two from Gatewood's hit and the third off a throwing error from Everett's right fielder Miguel Perez. Deivy Mendez earned his first win as a member of the Dust Devils after throwing a scoreless inning in the top of the tenth.
Tri-City will send right-hander Angel Acevedo to the mound in the rubber match of the three-game series on Friday night. The AquaSox will counter with Kelvin Nunez. It will be Russell Wilson Bobblehead Giveaway Night and a CO-Energy Family Feast Night.
