The Tri-City Dust Devils (3-5) came up short in the first road game of the season as the team fell 5-3 the Eugene Emeralds (5-3) on Saturday night. A solo home run from Eugene's Caleb Knight in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Emeralds a lead they would not let slip away the rest of the night.
Tri-City starter Ethan Elliott impressed during his limited action in his pro debut. The southpaw tossed one scoreless inning to begin the game. Ignacio Feliz piggybacked Elliott and ended up with a no-decision after allowing three runs in four innings of work. Jonny Homza delivered at the plate in the loss for the Dust Devils. The Alaska native was the only Tri-City hitter to end the game with two hits.
The four-game road series at PK Park continues on Saturday night. Tri-City will send right-hander Connor Lehmann to the mound. Eugene will counter with right-hander Jeremiah Estrada. The Dust Devils will return to Gesa Stadium on Friday, June 28 to begin a six-game homestand. The series opener against the Everett AquaSox on June 28 will be School Night presented by Pahlisch Homes and also a Family Feast Night courtesy of CO-Energy. Great seats are available by calling the team's office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
