A three-hit performance from Tucupita Marcano lifted the Tri-City Dust Devils (8-13, 26-33) to the 6-0 win over the Vancouver Canadians (13-8, 32-27) on Thursday afternoon at Nat Bailey Stadium. Marcano hit the first home run of his professional career in the top of the first inning.
In addition to Marcano's impressive performance at the plate, the pitching staff was lights out for the Dust Devils. Omar Cruz, Spencer Kulman Nick Kuzia combined to keep the Canadians scoreless. Kulman earned his first win of the season and Kuzia picked up the save after tossing the final three innings of the game. The shutout was Tri-City's fourth of the year and first in August.   
The team will return home on Friday to begin a six-game homestand. Right-hander Angel Acevedo will start the series opener. Friday's game against the Everett AquaSox will be Faith Night. It will also be a CO-Energy $1 Family Feast Night. Hot dogs, ice cream sandwiches, bags of potato chips and 12 ounce Coca-Cola products will be $1 all night long.
