The Tri-City Dust Devils (14-16) avoided the sweep on Sunday night as the team came away with the 6-2 win over the Hillsboro Hops (21-9). Justin Paulsen it a two-run blast in the eighth inning in the victory, his first home run of the season.
The Dust Devils were led by strong pitching in the series finale. Tri-City's starter Angel Acevedo earned the win after not allowing a run in 5.2 innings of work. He has now thrown 14.2 straight scoreless innings. Luis Asuncion had an impressive night at the plate. Asuncion had three hits and drove in two of the team's six runs.
The Dust Devils will now return to Gesa Stadium to begin a three-game series with the Vancouver Canadians. Right-hander Henry Henry will toe the rubber for the team. The opener of the eight-game homestand will be Home Run Derby Night presented by The Batters Box and a Coca-Cola Monday, where all 22 oz.
