Another big game at the plate led the Tri-City Dust Devils (20-15, 36-37) to the 8-5 victory over the Vancouver Canadians (15-20, 30-43) on Friday afternoon at Nat Bailey Stadium. The win secures a trip to the Northwest League Playoffs for the Dust Devils.
For the second straight day Tri-City rallied despite facing a sizable deficit. The Dust Devils went on to score seven unanswered runs to close the game after trailing by four going into the seventh inning. Dom DiSabatino was fantastic out of the bullpen to protect the lead. He earned the win after keeping Vancouver scoreless over the final three innings of the game.
Tri-City will close out the regular season at home against the Spokane Indians in a three-game series that will be a preview of the NWL Playoffs. Right-hander Jason Reynolds will start the series opener on Saturday at Gesa Stadium against Spokane. Saturday there will be a postgame fireworks show presented by TOYOTA of Tri-Cities.
