A chance to get the series split eluded the Tri-City Dust Devils (10-20) on Sunday night at Avista Stadium as the team fell 8-3 to the Spokane Indians. Kyle Kasser had a nice night at the plate in the loss, producing three of Tri-City’s nine hits.

The long ball proved to be a major factor in the game. Spokane’s Michael Toglia had two home runs and Brenton Doyle added a blast of his own for the Indians. Command was an issue for the Dust Devils. Tri-City had more hits in the game than Spokane, but the pitching staff surrendered nine walks.

After an off day on Monday, the Dust Devils will travel to Hillsboro to begin a six-game road series against the Hops on Tuesday. Tri-City will send left-hander Hector Yan to the mound in the opener at Ron Tonkin Field.
