The Tri-City ValleyCats cruised to a 5-1 win at Dutchess Stadium in Hudson Valley, tying for the league's best record with their fourth straight win on Thursday night.

Carlos Machado was dominant at the plate for Tri-City, going 4-for-5, while Alex Holderbach provided a team-high two runs batted in.

The ValleyCats struck first with a three-run third inning. Ramiro Rodriguez brought home the game's first run with a double, while Machado and Nate Perry each followed with run-scoring singles.

Holderbach then brought home the ValleyCats' final two runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Jose Alberto Rivera earned the win with three shutout innings in just his second appearance of the season for the ValleyCats.

Now with a record of 37-27, the ValleyCats are tied with the Renegades for the best record in the New York-Penn League, maintaining their lead over the Lowell Spinners in the Stedler division.

The ValleyCats will return home on Sunday afternoon to begin their final regular season home stand of the season against the Aberdeen Ironbirds.
