TROY, NY - Tri-City ValleyCats pitcher Josh Hiatt has been named the Frontier League’s “Pitcher of the Week” after another dominant outing on July 15 at “The Joe.” Hiatt is the first player in franchise history to receive one of the Frontier League’s weekly awards. The Tri-City ace has dominated on the mound all season, achieving a 4-1 record with an ERA of 3.09 and 37 strikeouts over 52.1 innings of work.

On July 15, Tri-City skipper Pete Incaviglia sent Hiatt to the mound for game one of a doubleheader against the visiting Washington Wild Things. Hiatt dazzled in the ValleyCats third shutout of the season (Hiatt has started two out of the three), taking a no-hitter into the sixth. When all was said and done, Hiatt surrendered just three hits, walked one, and struck out four over seven-innings of work and eighty-six pitches.
