Tulsa Drops Northwest Arkansas in Series Finale

Drillers' Bats Combine for Seventeen Hits in Win

Springdale, AR- The Tulsa Drillers offense came to life Sunday afternoon scoring 9 runs on 17 hits while defeating the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 9-2 at Arvest Ballpark.

The Drillers were able to jump ahead early, scoring two runs in the first inning. Drew Avans led off the game with a walk and Angelo Mora followed with a single. Christian Santana knocked in Avans with a single, and Cody Thomas followed with a single, scoring Mora.

Tulsa added two more runs in the second. After a single by Logan Landon and a walk to Mora, Snatana doubled, scoring both runners, extending the Drillers lead to 4-0.

The Naturals scored their first run of the game in the second. With runners at first and second, a throwing error by Mora on a double-play attempt allowed Emmanuel Rivera to score.

Northwest Arkansas scored again in the third. Nick Heath led off the Naturals half with a solo home run bringing the score to 4-2.

The Drillers broke the game open in the fifth. Three consecutive singles by Carlos Rincon, Jared Walker and Landon led to a run. Avans then doubled, scoring Walker and Landon to bring the Drillers lead to 7-2

Tulsa added two more in the ninth. After consecutive hits by Jordan Procyshen and Errol Robinson, Walker singled, plating Procyshen. Two batters later, Avans singled to bring in Robinson and raise the score to 9-2.

WHAT YOU MISSED

The Drillers 17 hits in the game matched their season high. 

Avans had his first three-hit game as a Driller while also notching three RBI. 

Six Drillers had multi-hit games. 

Drillers pitching was solid, allowing only one earned run while striking out ten batters.
