(Memorial Stadium - Everett, WA) - Canadians RF Griffin Conine's first home run went 447 feet over the left field fence while his second was a tall, towering home run that even had Everett's fans acknowledging the powerful 2nd rounder as Vancouver hammered the Aquasox 9-0 on Friday night to move to within just two games of first place in the North Division with 16 first-half games remaining.
Vancouver's offense got going again in the 2nd inning just one night after the Canadians plated seven runs in the second. Griffin Conine hit the first of two home runs on the night while two batters later, 3B Bryan Lizardo hit his 2nd of the season to give the Canadians an early 2-0 lead.  
LF Tanner Kirwer hit his 3rd home run of the summer to lead off the top of the 5th inning which saw the Canadians score three runs after back-to-back doubles from SS Otto Lopez and CF Hunter Steinmetz broke the series finale open.
Vancouver put the game out of reach in the top of the 8th inning as they scored four more runs which featured back-to-back home runs from Conine and 2B Sterling Guzman as the Canadians won it's third consecutive series with a 9-0 victory out at Memorial Stadium.
On the mound, Vancouver saw three pitchers combine for the second shutout victory of the season as RHP Josh Winckowski went five terrific innings allowing just four hits, a pair of walks and seven strikeouts. Relievers RHP Mitch McKown (2.0IP) and RHP Justin Watts (2.0IP) didn't allow much of anything as the Canadians improved to 10-12 (.455) on the season while Everett falls to 12-10 (.545).
Vancouver now returns to Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium for a crucial three-game series vs. Spokane with Saturday (July 7) and Sunday (July 8) already announced as sellouts while tickets remain for Monday's series finale (July 9 at 7:05pm). Grab those seat as the Canadians will embark on a nine-day, eight game road trip after this brief three-game series vs. Spokane returning July 19th to host Hillsboro.
