(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Vancouver got six innings of four hit baseball from RHP Adam Kloffenstein (2-2) while Brett Wright, MC Gregory Contreras and Yorman Rodriguez all homered in a lopsided Sunday afternoon victory over Tri-City. The win moves the Canadians to 8-3 (.727) since the first off-day of the Northwest League season (July 10).
RF MC Gregory Contreras fell a triple shy of the cycle going 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and three runs scored while LF Will Robertson (3-for-3) and C Philip Clarke (2-for-5) also had multi-hit games for the Canadians. Robertson collected a game-high three RBI while Brett Wright hit his first home run of the season with Robertson on-base in the bottom of the 7th inning, a frame that saw the C's score six times.
On the mound, Kloffenstein limited the Dust Devils offense to just four hits with his lone blemish coming in the top of the 5th when 2B Reinaldo Ilarraza hit a sac fly to center field scoring C Jonny Homza who led off with a double.
RHP Josh Almonte (0.2IP, 0H, 0R, 0ER, 4BB, 0SO), LHP Nicolas Medina (1.1IP, 1H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 1SO) and LHP Luke Gillingham (1.0IP, 0H, 0R, 0ER, 0BB, 1SO) combined to hold Tri-City off the board over the games final three innings as the Canadians move to 14-23 (.378) through 37 games while the Dust Devils fall to 16-21 (.432) with the series finale set for Monday, July 22nd at 7:05pm.
