(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Aquasox DH Cam Perkins lined a double in the top of the 5th inning that scored SS Connor Kopach which proved to be the winning run as Everett walked into Vancouver and swept a three-game series from the Canadians completing the feat with a 4-2 victory on Friday afternoon.
Vancouver (2-6) left 12 runners on-base and went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position (RISP) on Friday despite the Canadians showing some life at the plate. Six different C's had base hits in the series finale but couldn't solve an Aquasox pitching staff that only allowed runs in three of the 27 offensive innings during the series.
Canadians starter RHP Jose Espada (0-2) went 4 1/3 innings of work allowing three of the Aquasox four runs on the afternoon before giving way to RHP Denis Diaz (2.1IP, 1H, 0ER), LHP Marcus Reyes (1.1IP, 1H, 0ER) and RHP Justin Watts (1.0IP, 2H, 1ER). The Canadians have lost three games by two runs this season and another pair by just one run. Help looks to be on the way as Toronto Blue Jays 2nd Round pick OF Griffin Conine and 9th Round pick 1B Jake Brodt will meet the Canadians in Spokane on Saturday (June 23).
Vancouver heads to Spokane, Washington to open a three-game series against the Indians starting Saturday, June 23rd at 6:30pm looking to snap its current three-game losing streak.
The Canadians return to Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium on Tuesday, June 26th at 7:05pm to open up an eight-game homestand vs. Tri-City (June 26-28) and Salem-Keizer (June 29 - July 3). Tickets are available to any of these eight games by calling 604.872.5232, or by visiting the Nat Bailey Stadium Box Office at 4601 Ontario Street, Vancouver, B.C.
