VISALIA, CA - The Visalia Rawhide, in conjunction with the California League of Professional Baseball Clubs, announced today that RHP Bo Takahashi has been named the California League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 22-29.

Takahashi delivered an outstanding start against Inland Empire on April 27, tossing six shutout innings while striking out eight and holding the 66ers to just four hits. The performance gave Takahshi his third win of the season, tied for third best in the California League, and lowered his ERA to 1.73, which is the fifth-best mark in the league.
Overall, Takahashi is 3-0 and has struck out 30 hitters while issuing just four walks in 26 innings. His performance against Inland Empire sparked Visalia's first series sweep of the season.
This is the third time that Takahashi has claimed the California League Pitcher of the Week honors after he earned the award twice in 2017, once after he took a no-hitter into the eighth inning against Modesto. It is his fourth career Pitcher of the Week nod as he also was honored on June 29, 2015 by the Pioneer League.
Takahashi, 21, was originally signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as an International Free Agent on December 23, 2013, out of his home country of Brazil. He is repeating the California League after earning Mid-Season All-Star recognition in 2017 and earning the win in 2017's California League All-Star Game.
Takahahsi becomes the second straight Rawhide pitcher to be given the California League Pitcher of the Week distinction after Connor Grey won the award a week ago. Visalia hurlers claimed three Pitcher of the Week honors in 2017. Takahashi won the award twice and Cody Reed earned the recognition on July 23.
Visalia is currently tied for first place in the California League North Standings and begins a six-game homestand on May 4. The homestand will feature the Rawhide's next event: the Fiesta de los Toros, where the club will re-brand as Los Toros de Visalia to celebrate Hispanic Heritage in Tulare County. The event will include postgame fireworks on May 4, an All You Can Eat and Drink Taco and Beer package on May 5, and the Helicopter Candy Drop on May 6.
