VISALIA, CA - The Visalia Rawhide committed a season-high six errors, four of which came in the first three innings, that keyed a pair of big rallies for Modesto as the Nuts cruised to a 6-3 win.

Modesto (37-54/7-14) got it going in the first inning after the first error, an errant throw by Camden Duzenack, put runners on first and second with nobody out. Kyle Lewis banged a double down the right field line to score both runners and put the Nuts up 2-0.
Connor Grey survived a second error in the first and delivered a clean second before Modesto came back for four more runs, after an additional two Visalia errors, in the third. Anthony Jimenez capped Nuts scoring with a two-run blast to left that gave Modesto a 6-0 lead.
Grey (L, 6-6) lasted just four innings and allowed six runs, four earned, on seven hits with five strikeouts.
Miguel Aguilar took over in the fifth and started a chain of shutout bullpen work. Aguilar and Austin Mason both put up two scoreless innings and Carlos Bustamante struck out a pair in a quiet ninth inning.
Five of the six Rawhide errors led to extra runners on the base paths. Two of the runners that reached on errors came around to score.
Unfortunately, despite the strong work of the bullpen, the Visalia offense couldn't figure out Ashton Goudeau. In his second start with the Nuts, Goudeau (W, 1-0) held the Rawhide to just one run on two hits with five strikeouts over five innings.
The lone Rawhide run against him came on a balk with Stephen Smith at third base in the fourth inning.
Visalia (47-44/10-11) finally produced more runs in the bottom of the eighth against submariner Jack Anderson. Duzenack doubled off the base of the barn in right center, bringing home Mark Karaviotis, and Marcus Wilson slapped a two-out single to right to plate Duzenack.
But the Rawhide would go down in order against the sidewinder Wyatt Mills (SV, 8) in the ninth.
Dominic Miroglio put up a two-hit game with a double in the seventh and both Duzenack and Jason Morozowski added doubles. Morozowski's hit gave him a ten-game hitting streak, the longest on the Rawhide this season.
Lewis doubled three times for the Nuts. Modesto has had two three-double performances this season: both have come at Rawhide Ballpark.
The Rawhide conclude their start against Modesto tomorrow night. RHP Cole Stapler (0-0, -.--) will take the bump for Visalia against Nuts RHP Ljay Newsome (4-6, 5.18). First pitch is at 7 PM and tickets are available on Rawhidebaseball.com.
