VISALIA, CA- Visalia’s good luck while using the team’s former moniker, the Oaks, continued Wednesday as the team won 7-6 thanks to a walk-off, bases loaded walk for Ronny Simon in the bottom of the ninth inning. The team is now 2-0 as the Oaks and with the nearly brand-new team that was put into place on Tuesday.

All of the team’s new additions got on-base for the second straight night with the biggest performer being 2021 2nd round pick Ryan Bliss who had two hits. The returning players for the Oaks were the biggest stars of the game. Ronny Simon, who had three clutch at-bats with a triple in the bottom of the 6th, a homerun in the bottom of the 8th, and a bases loaded walk on a 3-2 count which brought home the winning run, giving Visalia their second walk-off win in as many nights.

Fielding continued to be impressive as the Oaks went a second straight game with zero errors, the biggest difference between the returning team and the newbies.

Two new pitchers hit the mound Wednesday with Kyle Backhus getting the start and tossing two strikeouts and two earned runs in 1.2 innings. The other four pitchers, Enmanuel Acosta, Ross Carver, Alex Valdez and Jose Alcantara, combined for the other four earned runs and a whopping 13 strikeouts with 2021 20th round draft pick Carver being the biggest star throwing five K’s and giving up only one hit in 2 innings.
