The nomination marks the first for Bojarski, who has been designated as a starter for the Eastern Division team. The Midwest League unveiled the rosters on Wednesday based on a vote of league managers. Bowling Green led all Midwest League teams with eight All-Star selections.
Bojarski, originally born in South Africa and raised by parents of German descent, leads West Michigan in various offensive categories, and ranks within the top-10 players in the Midwest League in batting average (.309, 7th), home runs (8, T-5th) and RBI (36, T-7th), and total bases (98, 6th) and enters Wednesday hitting .311 with eight home runs, 36 RBI and a team-best .849 OPS (on-base/slugging) in 53 games. "It's a really good feeling," Bojarski said. "It's something I've always dreamed of making an All-Star Team, and it's finally happened."
Bojarski has been one of the standouts among Whitecaps players this season. The native of Perth, Australia became the first 'Caps player to hit for the cycle since
Until today's nomination, the 20-year old had never made an All-Star team but managed to make the All-World team in the Under-23 Baseball World Cup representing Australia in 2018. Entering last season, Bojarski ranked #97 in a list of the "best names in Minor League Baseball," according to MLB.com.
