Black Bears fans,
The sports world, and life in general, is being thrown a curveball unlike any we’ve ever seen. We want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our fans is and will always be our top priority. We will continue to monitor developments surrounding the coronavirus outbreak and will work closely with our partners in baseball as well as our elected public officials to determine the necessary steps moving forward.
Internally, we will take all the necessary steps to ensure that when the time comes to ‘play ball,’ Monongalia County Ballpark will once again be the same clean, safe and comfortable environment it has always been for our great fans. We will also communicate with our fans additional information with regards to ticketing for impacted games when details become available (see our Frequently Asked Questions below).
We appreciate your patience and support and encourage all fans to exercise the necessary steps outlined by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention to protect yourself and your communities.
President, Rich Baseball Operations
General Manager, West Virginia Black Bears
Please note, Monongalia County Ballpark is temporarily closed. That includes the Bears Den Team Store and the West Virginia Black Bears Box Office. However, we can still be reached at the following:
Q: Where is the best place to find updates about the season?
A: We will continue to update this page on WestVirginiaBlackBears.com with any new information that becomes available. You can also follow us on our social media channels (@WVBlackBears) for updates as well.
Q: How will the Black Bears schedule be adjusted for the 2020 season?
A: Until we learn more about when we can start the 2020 season, we won’t be able to determine the effects this delay will have on the rest of the scheduled games in 2020.
Q: What if I've already purchased season tickets/suites/ticket packs for the 2020 season?
A: For now, we ask that you just hang onto any tickets, ticket packages or ticket certificates for the 2020 season that you have. This situation is fluid for now and we are working on plans to handle all ticket inquiries and will communicate that on this webpage and on our social media channels. If you have any additional questions regarding tickets, you can email the Black Bears at [email protected].
Please note, the Black Bears are proud to have the best sports fans in the world supporting them and we will do right for all our fans that showed their support by purchasing tickets in advance for the upcoming season.
Q: What about my group outing/suite rental?
A: If you have a party reservation at this time, it will still be held for the 2020 season. The Black Bears Ticket Operations Manager will continue to communicate with you to determine how to best serve your group’s needs. If you’d like to reach out to us with questions, please send them to [email protected].
Q: I bought tickets/season tickets/a ticket package, but have not received them yet. Are they still coming to me?
A: Don’t worry if you don’t have your physical tickets as of yet. With the temporary closing of Monongalia County Ballpark, we are also delaying the mailing of many of our ticket purchases. As long as you purchased your tickets directly from us (WestVirginiaBlackBears.com, Tickets.com), we have your order in our system and will get those tickets to you when possible.
If you have any additional questions/concerns, you can always email our general email account at [email protected] and it will be directed to the appropriate department for follow up as soon as possible.
