October 22, 2018 -While the cold and chill of the fall season may be now arriving, the West Virginia Black Bears and their great fans can look forward to warmer days at the ballpark with the release of the team's 2019 Playing Schedule.
The West Virginia Black Bears will return to Monongalia County Ballpark in just 235 days on Opening Day, Friday, June 14, 2019 as they host the Mahoning Valley Scrappers for the first contest of their 76-game slate. Season tickets for the upcoming season are now on sale with a full promotional schedule and game times to be announced.
The West Virginia Black Bears will begin the 2019 season with a 2-game homestand as the tradition of weekends at the ballpark returns. In all, nearly half (17) the team's 36 home games this year will be played on either Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.
Monongalia County Ballpark is scheduled to host 38 of the 76 games in 2019. Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Indians), State College Spikes (Cardinals), Williamsport Crosscutters (Phillies), Staten Island Yankees (Yankees), Batavia Muckdogs (Marlins), Auburn Doubledays (Nationals), and the Aberdeen Ironbirds (Orioles) will all be visiting the Black Bears throughout the course of the summer.
