Kendrick Family Ballpark A-Z Guide

The West Virginia Black Bears asks that you please adhere to FAA policies, per the NOTAM document concerning flight restrictions for sporting events. No flight operation may take place within three nautical miles, nor up to 3,000 feet around the perimeter of the stadium, from one hour prior to the start of the event until one hour after its completion. These restrictions also apply to all unmanned or remote controlled Drone aircrafts. Failure to comply with these restrictions will result in the appropriate legal response from law enforcement officials.

Alcoholic beverages may not be brought into Kendrick Family Ballpark. Beer sales can be found along the concourse inside the gates. As per West Virginia State Law all persons purchasing alcoholic beverages must have a valid photo id and must 21 years of age and it is unlawful to purchase alcohol for minors. Alcohol sales end at the conclusion of the 7th inning unless otherwise announced.

A United Bank automatic teller machine is located in the main concourse behind Section 105. Banking rates may apply.

No one is allowed on the field at any time without proper credentials. Designated areas will be established for autographs on a game-by-game basis. Please visit the West Virginia Black Bears website at www.westvirginiablackbears.com for up-to-date information on autograph signing sessions.

Baby changing stations are available in all men's, women's and family restrooms inside Kendrick Family Ballpark located on the main concourse. Baby changing stations are also located in all restrooms on Press Box/Bear's Dens level.

Banners and signs, except those associated with West Virginia Black Bears Baseball, are not permitted at Kendrick Family Ballpark, without the written consent of the West Virginia Black Bears front office or approval at Gate A.

A full service team store is located at the end of the main concourse on the third base behind Section 101. Get your officially licensed Black Bears gear with exciting new options for men, women and children throughout the season. Or shop any day of the year at our online team store. The Bear's Den accepts the four major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).

As West Virginia Black Bears is a family-oriented experience, we ask that the behavior of our fans be in accordance with this atmosphere. Therefore, the use of disruptive and vulgar language or gestures is prohibited. If your enjoyment of visiting Kendrick Family Ballpark is being interrupted by the behavior of another fan, please contact ballpark security, an usher or fan services staff member so the situation can be corrected immediately.

Fans are permitted to use both still and video cameras to shoot pre-game, game action and between innings as long as they are not obstructing other fans. Tripods and other camera stands are prohibited. Fans should be advised it is illegal to sell or mass-produce any photos taken at Kendrick Family Ballpark without the consent of the West Virginia Black Bears. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in fan ejection and/or confiscation of camera.

All persons, including children aged 3 and older must have a ticket for admission. Infants 2 years of age and younger are not required to have a ticket but may not occupy a seat, they must be sitting on the lap of an adult.

As of 2024, all concessions at all WVU Athletic Facilities, including Kendrick Family Ballpark, are now cashless. Two separate concession stands are located on the main concourse directly behind sections 103 and 106. Mobile concession carts may also be located throughout the concourse and Party Deck. All concessions stands accept the four major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover).

From the South-

  • From Interstate 79, take the University Towne Center Exit 153.
  • Veer off Exit 153 and turn right at the stoplight off the exit.
  • Continue straight. Kendrick Family Ballpark will be on your left.

From the North -

  • From Interstate 79, take the West Virginia University Exit 155.
  • Turn left off Exit 155, then turn right at the stoplight at the entrance of University Towne Center.
  • Continue straight until you drive past Wal-Mart. Kendrick Family Ballpark will be on your right.

From the East-

  • From Interstate 68, take I-79 North.
  • Take the University Towne Center Exit 153.
  • Veer off Exit 153 and turn right at the stoplight off the exit.
  • Continue straight. Kendrick Family Ballpark will be on your left.

Kendrick Family Ballpark is an ADA complaint facility.

Wheelchair seating is located behind sections 102-107. Tickets should be purchased in advance and are reserved for persons confined to a wheelchair and their guest. Disabled guests should enter Kendrick Family Ballpark at Gate A or the office lobby. Gate A is located at the main ticket office behind the left field fence. The office lobby is located behind right field.

There is one elevator located on the concourse behind Section 107 into the Press Box/Luxury Box Level. Must present proper credentials for access. There is a second elevator located behind right field for people with disabilities for entering and exiting the ballpark.

Two family restrooms are located on the main concourse behind Section 104. These areas are equipped with changing tables.

A fan service station is located on the main concourse behind Section 102. Fan Services handles lost and found, lost children, emergencies and general ticket information. Fans may also report problems or make suggestions at Fan Services. The Fan Services Station will be available from the time the gates open until the conclusion of the game.

Located on the main concourse behind Section 105. Contact an event staff member or police for assistance.

No food or beverages may be brought into Kendrick Family Ballpark by fans except with the prior consent of the club's General Manager.

Follow THE HIGH 5 rules to make game day a great day for everyone:
1. No excessive drinking - intoxicated fans are not allowed inside or outside the ballpark.
2. No foul or abusive language.
3. No smoking in the seating or concourse areas.
4. No throwing stuff (anything) onto the field.
5. No ignoring of the instructions of Event/Security personnel.

Gates will open one hour before game time unless otherwise advertised.

Currently the grass berms are closed to fans.

Going onto the grass berms will result in an immediate removal from Kendrick Family Ballpark.

Is maintained during the game at the Fan Service Station located behind Section 102 on the main concourse. All unclaimed items will be available in the West Virginia Black Bears front office the next business day. Please email wvblackbears@gmail.com with any questions.

In case of a lost child, please contact the Fan Services Station, located behind Section 102 in the main concourse or contact an event staff member or police officer for assistance.

A limited number of luxury party areas are available for rental on a game-by-game basis. These areas are located on the Press Box Level. For information on Luxury Box rentals contact West Virginia Black Bears at 304-293-7653 or email tickets@westvirginiablackbears.com.

If you notice an area of the ballpark (i.e., seats, rest rooms, lights) that you feel needs to be repaired, please stop by Fan Services behind home plate in the main concourse where your request will be documented and forwarded to our ballpark operations team. Visit main Parking Information page

There are several parking options at Kendrick Family Ballpark. Fans may pay to park at Kendrick Family Ballpark in either Lot 1 or Lot 2. Parking lot 1 is located behind the center field fence on the opposite side of Gyorko Drive near Buffalo Wild Wings and Star Furniture. Lot 2 is located behind the right field clubhouse building and requires a season parking pass. Season parking passes may be purchased by calling the Black Bears Ticket Office at (304) 293-7653.

Fans may also park at the University Town Center. A limited number of parking spots are located at Walmart, Sams Club and the WVU Hospital Facility. Available parking spots at Walmart and Sams Club are striped with white paint. Game day parking is prohibited in any spots striped in yellow paint.

Parking rules for the WVU Hospital facility are as follows: The West Virginia Black Bears have access to "up to 50% of the final, as-constructed parking spaces on the Hospital Premises"… Those spots become available for Black Bears games starting at 5 p.m. on for all evening games as they open up with the full complement of spaces available by 6 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays the designated spaces are available starting two hours prior to game time as the spots open up with all designated spots available one hour prior to the game. Fans are not allowed into the WVU Hospital facility restrooms. Tailgating and tents are strictly prohibited, and nothing can be sold in the lot.

ADA parking is available in Parking Lot 3 located directly behind the scoreboard at Kendrick Family Ballpark near Gate A. These reserved spaces are sold on a first come first serve basis. Disabled fans or those driving a fan with a handicap should notify the parking manager of their desire to park in the reserved handicapped area. Upon notification, the parking lot staff will direct the vehicle to the closest parking space. Proper handicap identification is required.

  • Photo ID of the ADA permit holder (the photo ID must match the ADA parking registration card)

Unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.

The Black Bears Party Deck is located along the right field line. The Party Deck is equipped with portable concessions carts, high top tables and picnic tables. Tents may also be located on the Party Deck for select games/events. The Party Deck will also be the location of any live music on specific game days.

Pets are not permitted in Kendrick Family Ballpark except for the fans requiring the use of licensed therapy or guide dogs. The lone exception is on Bark in the Park dates, where a special section will be set up in a designated area. Up-to-date information in regards to Pet Promotion Day can be found under Events or Ticketing.

If needed please see Fan Services which is located behind Section 102 on the third base side of the main concourse.

To ensure the safety, comfort, and convenience of our guests, the following items may not be brought into the stadium: coolers (including soft-sided), any bag exceeding 12"x12"x12", all backpacks/schoolbags, gym bags, laser pointers, alcoholic beverages, weapons and any hard containers (glass bottles/metal cans). A 'size-wise' box is available at each gate and fan services location to determine if a bag is permitted.

There are basically two types of cancellations of baseball games due to adverse weather conditions:

Game in progress postponed: If this occurs while you are at the ballpark, keep your ticket stub and redeem it at the ticket office for a future game subject to availability and excluding special events. Please be advised, this transaction does not have to take place on the day the game is postponed. By MLB Draft League rules, five innings (or four and a half innings if the home team is leading the game) constitutes a complete game and no ticket refunds or rain checks will be issued. In the event a double header is postponed after five innings of game one have been completed, it will be considered a complete game. No refunds or rain checks will be issued.

Game postponed before gates open: If this occurs, keep your whole ticket and exchange it at the ticket office for a future game (within that season) of your choice, subject to availability and excluding special events.

CREDITS FOR RAIN OUTS WILL BE ISSUED TO YOUR ACCOUNT WITHIN FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS. To view your credits, log in to your ticketing account online. When you make a new purchase, you should see that you have credits available. Credits may also be redeemed over the phone at the ticket office. Walk-up redemption is based on availability and is not guaranteed.

Located on the main concourse behind Sections 104 and 109. There are two men's, two women's and two family restrooms located on the main concourse level. All restrooms are equipped to serve physically challenged patrons and offer baby changing stations.

There will be no re-entry into Kendrick Family Ballpark with the exception of an emergency. In the event of an emergency please visit the fan service room located behind home plate in the main concourse, event staff representative or police officer. Hand stamps will be used to identify those who are permitted to re-entry Kendrick Family Ballpark.

The resale of tickets on Kendrick Family Ballpark property is prohibited. Violators are subject to removal from the property. No solicitation of any kind is permitted in the parking lots or ballpark. Individuals discovered soliciting will be asked to cease or will be removed.

Kendrick Family Ballpark is a 100% Smoke Free Facility. Smoking is not permitted in any of the seating areas, the concourses or the suites, before, during or after the game. This includes the use of Vapor Cigarettes, or 'E Cigarettes.'

Selling any items by anyone other than authorized WV Black Bears or designated vending personnel in or around Kendrick Family Ballpark and the parking areas is prohibited.

Strollers are permitted but must be checked at Fan Services. Strollers are not permitted in the Grass Berm Seating Areas.

The WV Black Bears ticket office is located beside Gate A and behind the left field fence. Season tickets, mini-packages and single game tickets are available on our website www.westvirginiablackbears.com or by calling 304-293-7653. Game day sales are also available at the WV Black Bears ticket office. The WV Black Bears are not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced tickets. There are no refunds or exchanges.

Hours are subject to change during the off-season.

Umbrellas are allowed into Kendrick Family Ballpark. However, umbrellas are not to be used in seating areas. If a fan's umbrella is blocking the view or disturbing another fan, they will be asked to put it away.

Kendrick Family Ballpark is ADA compliant. All fans that require the use of a wheelchair should enter the stadium at Gate A located behind the left field fence.

Located at the Clubhouse ticket office outside of the right field fence, next to Gate C. Photo id is required. Will open 1.5 hours before game time.
