Whitecaps Announce 2017 Schedule

Comstock Park, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps released their 2017 season schedule. The team's 24th season will begin at home on Thursday, April 6 at 6:35 p.m. versus the South Bend Cubs.

Game 2, April 7, will be a full day of baseball with a watch party for the Tigers home opener at 1 p.m. inside the Pepsi Stadium Club before the Whitecaps take on the South Bend Cubs at 5 p.m. to conclude the short two-game series. 

Fireworks will once again light up the night sky over Fifth Third Ballpark with 20 Family Fare Fireworks Nights, including Opening Night, every summertime Wednesday and Saturday home game and selected additional nights, highlighted by a special Sunday night game on September 3.

Seven popular Tiger Friday nights are scheduled, beginning with the Friday, June 2 game against Lansing and every home Friday night thereafter. Three 11 a.m. school days are scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, Wednesday, May 24, and Tuesday, June 6. In addition, there is a special weekday 12 p.m. matinee game on Monday, June 12.

Wolverine Building Group Dime Dog Nights will return with three of the popular Tuesday nights scheduled on May 23, June 27, and August 22 with discounted hot dogs. Dollar days will also be featured this season from April 20 to April 26 with select specials for only $1.

Weekly promotions include Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Family Days on Sundays, JQ99 Bulletin Night on Mondays, Samaritas Silver Slugger Night for seniors on Wednesdays and Altogas Thrifty Thursdays.

Some featured promotions include the ever-popular Star Wars Night, returning on Saturday, June 24; bring your dog to the park on Dog Day (June 25); Social Media Night is Thursday, June 29; and Superhero Night is Saturday, July 29. Many more promotions will be added throughout the off-season. Promotions will be added to the Whitecaps website as they are booked.

Whitecaps games will be back on the radio in 2017, on flagship station 107.3 WBBL FM.

Fans can purchase season tickets and mini plans beginning Tuesday, October 25, by calling the Whitecaps front office at (616) 784-4131. Tickets for groups of 20 or more, including private party areas, will go on sale in November. Individual game tickets will go on sale in early 2017.
