Whitecaps to hold open workout Wednesday

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - Fans will have their first chance to meet the 20th edition of the West Michigan Whitecaps team Wednesday, April 3, when the team will take part in an open workout and autograph session from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Fifth Third Ballpark.

Parking and admission are free to the public. Gates open at 1 p.m. and the team will take the field at 1:30 p.m. for batting practice and infield practice. From 2:30 to 3 p.m., the team will greet fans and sign autographs.

A limited concessions menu will be available for purchase. Additionally, fans are encouraged to visit the Souvenir Shop to check out the new 2013 line of apparel, caps and novelties.

The Whitecaps' season opener is Thursday, April 4 at 6:35 p.m. (gates open at 5 p.m.) vs. Dayton. The first 1,500 fans through the gates on Opening Day will receive a Whitecaps 20th season cap courtesy of Fifth Third Bank, and all fans will enjoy a post-game Family Fare Fireworks display.
