LANSING, MI - Sunday's scheduled doubleheader between the West Michigan Whitecaps and Lansing Lugnuts at Cooley Law School Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather, as a winter storm has wreaked havoc throughout the state this weekend.
Saturday saw similar conditions across the state, as games were called by teams including the University of Michigan Baseball and Softball teams, Great Lakes Loons, and Detroit Tigers. After Sunday's postponement, the Whitecaps have had three games postponed during their first two weeks of the season.
With the Whitecaps not scheduled to make another trip to Lansing during the first half, Sunday's games are set to be made up when the Lugnuts visit West Michigan during a three-game series between April 27-29, with games and times to be determined.
The Whitecaps return home for a three-game series against the Bowling Green Hot Rods starting Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. Right-hander Garett King gets the start for West Michigan. Broadcast coverage with Dan Hasty and Mike Coleman begins on the Whitecaps Baseball Network at 6:25 p.m. Tickets are available for any Whitecaps 2018 home contest by calling the Whitecaps front office at 616-784-4131 or by visiting www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
