Wichita, KS- The Tulsa Drillers defeated the Wind Surge 5-4 on Thursday night behind a strong start on the mound from Tulsa’s Bobby Miller to put the Drillers in first place in the division.

Right-hander Bobby Miller got the start on the mound for the Drillers and pitched five and two thirds’ innings and allowed two runs on six hits and struck out seven hitters to earn his third win of the season.

Tulsa struck first as they scored four runs in the second inning behind a three-run homer from Drillers second baseman Devin Mann that put Tulsa in front 4-0.

The Surge got on the board in the fourth inning as Matt Wallner hit a solo home run to shrink the Tulsa lead to 4-1. Wallner finished the night one for four with an RBI and a walk. Wichita scored two more runs in the sixth inning as Anthony Prato scored on a fielder’s choice and Leobaldo Cabrera hit a solo homer the next at-bat to cut the lead to 5-3.

Notes: Austin Martin recorded his 22nd stolen base of the season (second in Texas League) …Edouard Julien and Anthony Prato have reached base in eleven consecutive games… Wichita is now 12-9 in one run games

Coming Up: The Wind Surge will resume play against the Tulsa Drillers tomorrow, June 17th for a 7:05 first pitch.
