Position: Seasonal Communication Assistant (up to 39 hours a week)
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Director of Marketing
Salary: Hourly - $10.00 per Hour
The Seasonal Communication Assistant will assist in writing projects, media relations, website updates, social media, administrative tasks, and other daily tasks as assigned. The Seasonal Communication Assistant will assist with creating and disseminating team information, marketing collateral, and external marketing communications as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with team-related communication responsibilities, such as producing game notes, writing recaps and featured stories, and maintaining game-related areas of the website.
- Responsible for the Wind Surge monthly program, including writing of articles, collection of stats and materials, and coordination with sponsorship on advertising.
- Prepare and disseminate gameday materials including, but not limited to, stat packs, lineups, rosters, match notes, and recaps.
- Assist with the organization’s social media efforts and help create compelling and relevant digital content that advances the brand.
- Run @WindSurgeICT during games with live updates. Use good judgement in content and interactions with fans.
- Brainstorm creative and relevant methods of promoting the Wind Surge organization, team, players, and coaches.
Requirements:
- Current junior, senior, or graduate student working toward a degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Communications or related field.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency in Windows, Adobe, and Microsoft applications including but not limited to Indesign, Flash, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Outlook.
- Understanding of the game of baseball preferred.
- Able to work independently with little or no guidance.
- Must be available and willing to work all Wind Surge home games.

- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time, perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting.
- Ability to stand for up to eight hours.
- Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment.
