Williamsport, P.A.- The Crosscutters got a pair of good pitching performances in their doubleheader sweep of the Black Bears, sweeping the series in the process.
In Game One, Colton Eastman surrendered a 1st inning run, as he finished the night allowing one run on three hits, striking out four in a piggyback start.
Ben Pelletier gave the Cutters a lead in the bottom of the 1st with RBI single to score Ben Aklinski, making it 1-1. Edwin Rodriguez added on with a RBI single to score Rafael Marchan upping the Cutters lead to 2-1.
Jack Perkins worked the next three innings, allowing one run on one hit, two walks and striking out four to earn his first win of the season.
The Cutters scored their 3rd run of the night on a throwing error that allowed Brayan Gonzalez to race home and take a 3-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning.
Danny Mayer crushed a 436' home run, his 3rd, in the bottom of the 6th inning giving the Cutters a 4-2 lead and Ben Pelletier ripped a RBI double to score Rafael Marchan to cap the scoring and give the Cutters a 5-2 lead. It was Pelletier's team-leading 10th double and team-leading 24 RBI.
Keylan Killgore tossed a pair of scoreless innings to earn his 7th save of the season, which ranks 2nd in the New York-Penn League. Killgore lowered his ERA to 0.98 for the year, which is the lowest of any reliever.
In Game two, James McArthur gave a dominant performance, tossing 5.1 innings of shutout baseball, striking out eight batters and walking two, while allowing three hits to earn his 2nd win of the season. With the effort, McArthur lowered his ERA to 0.77, which leads the team.
Seth Lancaster provided the only offense for Williamsport, using a two-out RBI single to right-center to score Jake Holmes in the bottom of the 4th inning to give the Cutters a 1-0 lead.
Rafael Carvajal worked the final 1.2 innings of shut out relief, earning his first save of the season in his first opportunity.
The Crosscutters make their way to Auburn, New York to start a three-game series against the Doubledays. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. at Falcon Park.
