Dear Williamsport Crosscutters Fans & Partners,

Yesterday (Labor Day) would have marked the end of the Williamsport Crosscutters 2020 season. If you viewed our live ballpark camera feed available at www.crosscutters.com, you saw that Historic Bowman Field was quiet for the first summer in 95 years. As we all know, Minor League Baseball and many other activities we hold near and dear have been canceled due to precautions surrounding COVID-19. While no games were played, it’s a “season” we won’t soon forget.

The Crosscutters family would like to take this opportunity to thank our fans and sponsorship partners for your support during this unprecedented time in our industry and the world around us. Many of you allowed us to hold your payments for use in 2021. Others participated in our social media contests and followed along virtually as we relived, day by day, the excitement of the 2003 season (Spoiler alert! We win the 2003 NY-Penn League Championship on Sept. 10). Online merchandise sales set new highs for sales volume and we held our first ever Autographed Baseball Breaks that sold out in less than 24 hours. Regardless of how you may have interacted with us during this time, we sincerely appreciate it.

As we enter the off season, we await a conclusion to negotiations between Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball on a new operating agreement. While we don’t yet know the exact specifics of how that will play out, we do know that Minor League Baseball, as we know it, will undergo numerous changes in virtually every league from coast to coast.

That said, we look forward to fielding a team under Major League Baseball’s umbrella in 2021. In addition, we are proud to act as a co-host of the 2021 MLB Little League Classic while also playing an important role in the future growth and reach of MLB.

Like you, we eagerly await details on what lies ahead and will communicate that information as soon as it is made available to us. In the meantime, you can stay up-to-date on all the latest news and participate in the virtual fun via Twitter, Facebook & Instagram. We also invite you to contact us with any questions you may have by emailing us at [email protected] or calling the Cutters Hotline at (570) 326-3389.

Here’s to the continued health and safety to you, your families and those around you. On behalf of our ownership group, front office, and everyone in the Crosscutters family, thank you for your continued support.

GO CUTTERS!
