Williamsport, P.A. -Francisco Morales struck out eleven over six innings of work, both career-highs, in the Cutters 8-1 win over the rival Spikes.
Francisco Morales got started quick striking out a pair of batters in each of his first three innings of work, working around a lead off base runner in all three innings.
Seth Lancaster got the scoring started with a bases clearing triple to right-center, scoring Alec Bohm Jake Holmes and Matt Kroon to give the Cutters a 3-0 lead on Lancaster's third triple of the year, upping his RBI total to 13.
Ben Pelletier, who was named the New York-Penn League player of the week, started his claim for another acknowledgment, blasting a 402 foot, two-run home run in the bottom of the 5th inning, his team leading 8th blast of the season and upping his RBI count to 34, as the Cutters extended their lead to 5-1.
Williamsport plated three more runs in the bottom of the 6th inning, using a RBI double from Keudy Bocio, a RBI single from Rafael Marchan and a RBI double from Pelletier to give the Cutters a 8-1 lead.
Francisco Morales finished the night, allowing one run on three hits, including a solo home run, and walking two while striking out 11 en route to his fourth win of the season.
Randy Alcantara tossed the final three innings, allowing just a base hit and striking out two to earn his fourth save of the season.
The Crosscutters conclude their series against the State College Spikes tomorrow evening. First pitch at BB&T Ballpark is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
