MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Aug. 7, 2019) - Jameson FisherAndrew Vaughn and Steele Walker racked up multiple hits on Wednesday, but the Dash fell 5-2 to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.
In the ninth inning, Fisher smacked his 25th double of the season. Meanwhile, Walker bumped his hitting streak to eight games with two singles and a run. Vaughn finished the night 2-for-4 with a double, his first at the High-A level.

However, Winston-Salem (21-24, 59-50) struggled offensively against Myrtle Beach (24-22, 45-68) starter Javier Assad (4-8). The right-hander allowed just one run on four hits across 6.2 innings.
The Pelicans got the bats going against Dash starter Jorgan Cavanerio (7-2) in the bottom of the sixth inning. With one out, Carlos Sepulveda, Grant Fennell and Cam Balego hit three straight singles to load the bases. Then, Miguel Amaya flared a ball down the right-field line, scoring Sepulveda and Fennell to make it 2-0. Balego advanced to third and Amaya advanced to second on the play.
Following Amaya's single, Luke Reynolds lined a single through the right side to bring home Balego and push the lead to three runs. The next batter, Delvin Zinn, hit a sacrifice fly into center field, scoring Amaya to make it 4-0.
The Dash finally got on the board in the top of the seventh. With two outs, Fisher singled into right field before Tate Blackman drew a walk to put runners at first and second. Following Blackman's walk, Assad was removed for the ballgame and replaced by Manny Rodriguez.
After Rodriguez entered the ballgame, JJ Muno stepped up to the plate. On a 1-0 pitch, Muno ripped a ground-rule double down the right-field line, scoring Fisher to make it 4-1.
However, the Pelicans got a run back in the bottom of the seventh. Wladimir Galindo led off the frame with a double off of Dash reliever Bennett Sousa. The next batter, Zac Taylor, grounded a ball to the shortstop Muno, who threw to third base but not in time to get Galindo. Two batters later, Fennell hit a sacrifice fly into right field, scoring Galindo to push the lead to 5-1.
Thanks to Walker and Vaughn, the Dash got one more back in the top of the eighth. Walker led off the frame by bouncing a single right back through the middle. Later in the frame, Vaughn belted a double into right field, scoring Walker to make it 5-2.
However, Ryan Lawlor locked down the save by pitching a scoreless ninth.
The Dash wrap up their series with the Pelicans on Thursday night. Right-hander Kade McClure (2-3, 2.60 ERA) will take the hill for Winston-Salem, while the starter for Myrtle Beach is to be announced.
