WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (May 9, 2019) - Cristian Castillo and the Dash bullpen combined to allow just one unearned run, as Winston-Salem defeated the Lynchburg Hillcats 4-1 on Thursday night at BB&T Ballpark.
In his sixth start of the season, Castillo (1-4) delivered his best outing of the year. The left-hander worked six innings, surrendering just one unearned run while striking out two and walking one. In relief of Castillo, Will Kincanon threw two hitless innings with two strikeouts against one walk.

Trailing 4-1, Lynchburg (16-17) had an opportunity to tie the game in the ninth, but Luis Ledo worked out of a bases-loaded jam to earn his sixth save of the season.
The Dash jumped out to an early lead against Lynchburg starter Adam Scott (2-4). To lead off the bottom of the first, Tyler Frost reached on an error by Hillcats second baseman Wilbis Santiago. Following a Nick Madrigal flyout, Steele Walker drew a walk to put runners at first and second. Zach Remillard then hit a high chopper over the head of first baseman Jose Vicente and into right field, allowing Frost to score and make it 1-0.
With runners at first and second, Carlos Perez hit a hard grounder past a diving attempt from Hillcats shortstop Luke Wakamatsu and into left field. The base hit brought home Walker and Remillard to push the Dash lead to 3-0.
The Hillcats scored their lone run in the top of the fourth. With two outs, Laureano doubled off the wall in left-center. Luke Wakamatsu then hit a high pop into shallow right that bounced out of the glove of Madrigal, allowing Laureano to score to make it 3-1.
In the bottom of the sixth, Winston-Salem padded its lead. With two down in the inning, Perez lined a single into left field. After Jordan George drew a walk, Yeyson Yrizarri bounced a single through the right side to score Perez and make it 4-1.
